Following a preview earlier this year, Lynx Motors has revealed new information about its upcoming DeLorean DMC-EV, the most important of which is that pricing will start at $249,999 and deliveries are expected to begin in 2025.

Customers can reserve their car with a $2,500 deposit and the model is touted as a “complete reinvention” of the DeLorean DMC-12. The company hasn’t said much about it yet, but renderings suggest the car will feature a fully enclosed grille bearing the “DMC-EV” badge.

We can also see modern LED headlights, as well as a new painted underbody. The updates continue at the back with new taillights and what appears to be a glass-wrapped bumper. There’s also a large diffuser and a number of other revisions.

While the exterior is instantly recognizable, the same can’t be said for the interior, which has been completely redesigned. Drivers sit behind a new three-spoke carbon fiber steering wheel and look out at a massive display that stretches almost the entire width of the cabin.

There’s also a new center console that appears to include a wireless smartphone charger as well as a rotary controller with an integrated display. We can also see updated door panels as well as what appear to be modern leather seats with improved upholstery.

The V6 engine has been replaced by four hub motors, giving the car all-wheel drive and a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) acceleration time of less than four seconds. Power comes from a 70 kWh CATL battery, promising a range of up to 250 miles (402 km).

The stainless steel electric mod is also said to have new safety features like side impact protection and traction control. However, it seems that the company is still working out the details, so you should take everything with a grain of salt.
