Man reveals clever trick for super cheap Wetherspoons breakfast

A savvy YouTuber has revealed a tip on how to get a fried breakfast at Wetherspoon for a bargain price. Under the name CharlieVlogs, Charlie shared that at the well-known restaurant JD Wetherspoon, you can also order the components of a full English breakfast as separate side dishes.

This way, he paid just £3.43 instead of nearly £10 at the chain’s London branch at Victoria Station. He said: “Normally in central London they increase the prices of breakfast. It’s about six, seven or eight pounds, but I’ll show you how to get a Wetherspoons breakfast for about £3.50.”

“An absolute bargain, mate. It’s easy, mate, it’s that easy. So what you can actually do is order these breakfast extras individually, you don’t have to order them separately.” Subscribe to our Food & Drink newsletter here to receive the latest restaurant reviews

He calculated: “If I’ve done the math right, that’s about £3.43. Two slices of bacon, baked beans and a fried egg. Listen, you can’t get a cheaper or better breakfast than that in central London. It’s impossible, it’s that expensive… It tastes even better when it’s that cheap,” reported the Mirror.

He also stressed: “Another reason I brought you to Victoria Station is to show you that you can get good deals even in the most touristy and expensive central hub locations.”

Charlie also advised doing something about bags in the capital. He explained: “When you come to London, put your bag on the table where you can see it at all times. Don’t leave it out of sight, don’t leave anything out of sight… because it will be stolen.”

His advice was greeted with enthusiasm by his social media followers, with one commenting: “You’ve stumbled upon an absolute winner,” and another saying: “Brilliant.”

While Charlie’s suggestion might help prevent theft, it’s not the only trick you can use to save money at Wetherspoons. Kiana Brown previously pointed out: “At Wetherspoons, it’s cheaper to buy three 150ml glasses of orange juice than one 398ml glass.”

However, not everyone is convinced by such tricks. As North Wales Live reports, a former Wetherspoons employee said: “You save 4 pence.”

They added: “Do you get more? It depends. I’ve worked at Spoons and you assume these are for children. There are no measurement markings on the children’s glasses and you won’t fill them to the brim because you have to carry them over on a tray. So you’ll have three little cups and look weird for 4p and possibly a sip more.”
