Mark Clattenburg 1 – Barnet 0: The former Premier League referee shows off his hair transplant

Clattenburg makes the headlines for a variety of reasons. Whether it’s showing off his tattoos, attending an Ed Sheeran concert while violating Football Association rules, or interrupting a match mid-prayer, he seems to know how to grab the media’s attention.

Clatts’ most recent moment in the spotlight came when he praised the work of Manchester’s Medical Hair Restoration Clinic, which covered a growing bald spot on his head.

The 42-year-old, currently Saudi Arabia’s chief referee, praised the clinic set up by Ryan Giggs and former England cricketer Michael Vaughan, which helped him restore his head of hair to its original state.

“I was a referee in the Premier League and I was embarrassed to see myself on TV because my hair was getting thinner,” he told specialists at the MHR Clinic, as reported by the Daily Mail.

“I tried to brush it away to hide some of the bald spots. I was frustrated that I was so young and losing my hair.

Mark Clattenburg’s hair job was a painful affair

“It wasn’t unexpected because severe hair loss is normal in my family. I expected it, but I wanted to have a full head of hair again. The self-confidence I have now because I walk around with a full head of hair is phenomenal.

“It probably takes me longer to get ready, which frustrates my wife, but now I can style it and gel it and do things with it that I could never do before.”

Emotional stuff from everyone’s favorite referee. (OK, second Favorite. Don’t worry, Mikey D.)
