Pizza, but bigger

Sal’s Pizza is a popular stop year-round for New England Patriots fans and other visitors to Gillette Stadium.

To celebrate the new options, Sal’s is offering a free small pizza the day after each Patriots win during the regular season. This offer is new this year and guests must purchase an extra-large pizza to redeem the free small pizza, company officials said.

The offer is only valid in the following stores:

  • 51 Brookline Ave. and 150 Tremont St. – Boston
  • 328 Boston Rd. – Billerica
  • 296 Chelmsford St. — Chelmsford

Free treats for your puppy on National Dog Day

This week’s Cheap Eats column is not only about the people in your life, but also your beloved dogs.

National Dog Day is August 26, and some chains with locations in Massachusetts plan to give away the popular “Pup Cups” and other pet-friendly treats for free.

Dunkin’ and Starbucks are among the coffee chains offering free pup cups. Sonic will offer a “Wag Cup,” though not all locations are guaranteed to participate.

Dairy Queen, the popular ice cream chain for people, will also offer a frozen treat for dogs. There will be a free vanilla soft serve sundae for dogs, maybe even topped with a dog treat.
