Mayweather vs. Gotti 2 fight card, start time, date and location

Undefeated boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr. returns to the “sweet science” to battle D-list celebrity boxer John Gotti III on Saturday night (August 24, 2024) at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. This weekend’s eight-round pay-per-view (PPV) spectacle on DAZN will serve as revenge for the June 2023 headliner that ended in disqualification (and an in-ring brawl).

But this list is about more than just “money”.

Former WBC welterweight champion “Vicious” Victor Ortiz will also get his hands dirty when he takes on Argentine Assassin Rodrigo Damian Coria (ranked #5). In addition, WBC silver super bantamweight champion David Picasso defends against former world title challenger Azat Hovhanisyan in a 12-round bout. Elsewhere on the card, undefeated rising star Curmel Traymayne Moton fights Mexican Victor Vazquez in the lightweight division.

“I firmly believe that if I had endured a lot of abuse in boxing over the course of my career, I probably wouldn’t be doing exhibition fights or boxing shows anymore. But I haven’t had to endure anything in boxing and that’s why I feel I can continue to go out there and have fun and put on shows all over the world,” Mayweather said at the opening press conference (you can watch the replay here).

“As far as I know, I’ve beaten more Hall of Fame fighters than any other fighter in history, and that’s really a blessing,” Mayweather continued. “But (Gotti) is a tough competitor, and I take my hat off to him. He wants to hit it back, we can hit it back twice, three times. It’s kind of good to just show my talent and give people a glimpse of what I did at the peak of my career.”
