McDonald’s Collector’s Meals have been available in stores since Tuesday, August 13. Each meal comes with one of six cups featuring nostalgic images from past promotions.
Since we weren’t sure what we would get, we ordered the breakfast collectible meal through the chain’s app.
The meal included a Sausage McMuffin with egg sandwich, a hash brown, and a beverage of choice. We were given a large hot coffee, but we were also offered small soft drinks and juice.
The meal was delivered in a special bag with McDonald’s characters.
The collection cup was in the bag in its own plastic packaging with instructions to wash it before use.
We got the mug from Universal Studios with three scenes featuring Jurassic Park (with a McDonald’s in it), Minions and Shrek.
These are mugs, not the sturdy collectible glasses that fast food chains handed out in the 1970s. They’re plastic and have a 16-ounce capacity. You’ll need to wash them before use, and if you read the fine print on the bottom, you’ll see that they need to be hand-washed and not microwaved.
The other cups feature Mattel toys such as Barbie and Hot Wheels, Beanie Babies, Hello Kitty along with Peanuts characters, Coca-Cola and McDonald’s favorites such as Grimace and Funny Fry Friends.
After breakfast there are Collector’s Meals with 10 Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac. This includes French fries and a drink.
