Will the Morristown Area Little League team play in the World Series?

Unfortunately, the Morristown Area Little League team lost to the New York Metro Little League team in the finals of the Metro Regional Tournament, meaning the team will not participate in the Little League Baseball World Series despite finishing the tournament with a score of 2-1.

The Little League World Series begins Wednesday and runs through August 25. A team from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Council Rock Newtown, has won the Mid-Atlantic region and will open play on Thursday.

In a Facebook post, Morristown Area Little League officials acknowledged the heartbreaking loss and congratulated the team on a strong season and reaching the regional finals.

“We also know how incredibly hard all fifteen of you have worked this summer to achieve the great things you have all accomplished. And to be clear, you have certainly accomplished great things,” reads part of the Morristown Area Little League’s Facebook post.
