Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo reacts to Steph Curry’s last three-point shot

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo watched the US national team’s game against France on Saturday from the bench.

He cheered on his teammates as they headed to a 98-87 victory.

Towards the end of the fourth quarter, when the game was still up for grabs, Steph Curry attempted a three-point field goal. He made it. Nothing but a goal.

Adebayo couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Then he realized who fired the shot.

Adebayo said: “I was like, ‘What the hell?’ And then I remembered who filmed it.”

Curry finished the game with 24 points, leading the Americans as they won their fifth consecutive gold medal.

On that play, the 3-point field goal gave the United States a six-point lead after France had cut the lead to three points.

With less than three minutes left, Curry tried to put some distance between himself and Nic Batum. He got the ball from Kevin Durant and went left, then dribbled behind his back as Evan Fournier tried to pass him. Curry had Batum’s and Fournier’s hands in his face as he made the shot with six seconds left on the shot clock.

“It was an incredible moment,” Curry told NBC’s Mike Tirico after the game. “I’ve been fortunate to be able to play basketball at a high level for a very long time. I don’t know. … This is right up there in terms of excitement and feeling of relief to get to the finish line.”
