Microsoft is discontinuing the Paint 3D application because it had difficulty building a user base. Support for the app will end on November 4. Check more details

Redmond, August 11: Microsoft will remove the Paint 3D app from all versions of Windows starting November 4, 2024. The app was introduced in April 2017 in the Creator Update along with Paint. It allowed users to go beyond two-dimensional flat drawings and make their works three-dimensional. This application was introduced as a potential replacement for the classic Paint so that users could create 3D models.

The tech giant’s decision to discontinue this app reportedly reflects its shift in focus to the long-standing classic Paint app. Although Paint 3D offers users the ability to create 3D models with ease, it has reportedly failed to build the required user base. Most users are still used to the classic Paint application on Windows and hardly use this app. Rohan Verma, CEO of MapmyIndia, calls Ola Maps a “gimmick” and questions the maps’ navigation capabilities. An Ola spokesperson fired back, calling the statement “baseless.”
