Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland surprised her Instagram fans with a daring new hair color that she did all by herself.
The 29-year-old played Haley Dunphy in the ABC sitcom, which ended last month after eleven seasons, and became known for her brown curls.
Well, now you might find it a little harder to recognize her because Sarah has dyed her hair dark red.
Alongside four snapshots of her dramatic transformation, she quoted a few lines from The Little Mermaid and wrote on Instagram: “I wanna be where the people are…” #QuaranTINT crew (I did this all by myself! Very proud (smiley emoji)).”

After the final season of Modern Family, the star admitted in an interview with Cosmopolitan that she was disappointed with Haley’s ending.
Sarah noted that she would rather see her character “prove her cool in the fashion world – become a badass stylist or brand mogul or something like that.”
“There are so many amazing moms out there who also work hard, excel at their jobs, and excel in both areas every day. That would have been really cool to see, especially from someone like Haley,” she continued.
In the final episodes of the long-running sitcom, Haley settled down with her high school boyfriend after the birth of her twins.
The series finale of Modern Family aired on ABC in the US. In the UK, the show airs on Sky One and NOW TV..
