Motorists can save over £300 with Aldi’s new, easy-to-use kit for just £9.99

A dent in your car is a stressful experience, whether it’s caused by parking incorrectly, hitting the kerb or colliding with another driver. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, it’s often a costly mistake. According to Checkatrade, the average quote for a dent repair in the UK is £355.

Now motorists could avoid those horrendous bills with a handy new product – which costs less than a tenner. Aldi will be selling its own dent repair kit for just £9.99 as part of its next mid-aisle range.

The package contains nine accessories that you need to make your car look like new again after a bump. According to the manufacturer, the set helps to remove “minor” dents from the bodywork of cars, vans and motorcycles.

It works on flat panels such as doors and roofs, as well as curved panels such as fenders or aprons on the vehicle. The kit includes a hot glue gun, release agent, dowels, scraper, hot glue gun stand, glue sticks, pull tab, cross brace and wing nut.

Application

The manufacturer explains that to remove the dent, you need to assemble the crossbar with the wing nut. Then, use the glue gun to apply the glue to the dent.

Place the crossbar over the area and then tighten the wing nut in the area where the glue was applied to the dent. Once the glue has dried, loosen the wing nut and this should even out the dent.

Using the release agent and scraper, carefully remove the wing nut and peel away the adhesive. Aldi says: “This handy kit is simple to use and comes with easy-to-follow instructions. It smooths out bodywork in seconds and can be used to repair small dents and dings on flat and curved body panels. The kit contains nine accessories, giving shoppers everything they need to make their car look like new again.”

The dent repair kit will be available in stores on August 4, but as with all middle shelf items, “when they’re gone, they’re gone.”
