New York sports fans who want a one-stop shop for everything basketball and hockey will get just that in time for the new NBA and NHL seasons.
Gotham Advanced Media and Entertainment (GAME), the 50/50 joint digital venture between MSG Networks and YES Network that was unveiled in January, announced Wednesday that it will launch the Gotham Sports app this fall before the NBA and NHL begin their 2024-25 seasons, merging MSG+ and the YES app – as was speculated when GAME was formed.
This means that one app now includes games from the Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Islanders, Devils, Sabres and Yankees.
Fans in the regional broadcast area who already subscribe to MSG and YES through their pay-TV service can access the Gotham Sports app at no additional cost.
Fans without a traditional TV subscription can still subscribe to just MSG+ or YES through the new Gotham Sports app, but there are savings when subscribing to the combo package.
A yearly subscription to the combined Gotham package, which includes both the MSG+ and YES apps, costs $359.99, while a monthly subscription costs $41.99.
A subscription just for MSG+ within the Gotham Sports app costs $279.99 per year or $29.99 per month, with individual game passes available for $9.99.
A YES subscription to the Gotham Sports app costs $239.99 per year or $24.99 per month.
The current apps MSG+ and YES will be discontinued once the Gotham Sports app launches.
Game broadcasts on the Gotham Sports app include an advanced live stats package, free real-time games, and a loyalty program with bonus points.

The NHL season begins on October 4 with the Devils-Sabres Global Series in Prague, while the NBA season starts on October 22.
