Mustard declares he has no interest in collaborating with Drake

The music world experienced some drama when Mustard expressed his feelings about working with Drake. In a recent interview with The Los Angeles TimesMustard made it clear that he had no intention of working with Drake again, calling him a “weird guy.”

Despite their previous collaboration on YG’s 2014 hit “Who Do You Love?”, Mustard and Drake’s relationship appears to be strained. Tensions increased after Mustard helped produce “Not Like Us,” considered one of the most significant diss tracks in hip-hop history. Given the circumstances, a future musical partnership between the two seems highly unlikely.

To add fuel to the fire, Mustard criticized Drake in a series of tweets earlier this month. On August 2, Mustard launched into a tirade, calling Drake the “white man’s Malcolm X.” This outburst was sparked in part by Mustard’s belief that Drake influenced his friend, house producer Gordo, to release his new album. diamondon the same day as Mustard’s own project, The Faith of a Mustard SeedMustard suggested that this was a deliberate attempt to undermine the success of his album.

The saga began when Mustard released an unconfirmed report indicating that his album The Faith of a Mustard Seed sold 18,000 copies in its first week. Mustard expressed his gratitude for the sales with a post titled “Beyond grateful” and the hashtag #FOAMS. However, the situation soon escalated when Mustard added a controversial statement: “Album sales are a form of (white) supremacy, you ni**as, racist.”

This remark sparked criticism from fans, with Mustard attacking Drake for allegedly trying to sabotage his album’s release. Mustard’s frustration was evident in his post, where he referred to Drake as the “Malcolm X of (white) people” and mocked DJ Akademiks for making sure Gordo’s first week sales numbers were released. He further commented, “These Drake bots are the nation of Drizzlam,” suggesting that he believes Drake’s influence extends to a devoted fanbase that wants to outshine him.

This back and forth marks a significant rift between two prominent figures in the music industry, with Mustard openly expressing his disdain for Drake. The tension between them does not suggest a reconciliation anytime soon, leaving fans to speculate about the underlying reasons for their falling out.
