Since opening the broadcast center in Stamford, Connecticut, following the 2012 London Olympics, NBC Sports Group has expanded the facility’s role in its Olympic broadcast activities with each successive Games. The implementation of home activities was accelerated for the 2020 Tokyo and 2022 Beijing Olympics due to COVID-related challenges, and NBC has not looked back. Stamford is at the heart of NBC’s production for Paris 2024, with more technical infrastructure, crew and live shows than ever before.
In this interview Kevin Callahan, Senior Director, Systems Engineering, NBC Sports brings SVG into its Stamford operation and the facility transitions to ST 2110 and 1080p HDR-based production.
