NBC will be a sampling show for Peacock’s Steph Curry comedy “Mr. Throwback”

A month after NBC broadcast Steph Curry’s heroics in the Olympics men’s basketball final that helped the U.S. win the title, the Golden State Warriors star will be back on the network. NBC will air the first episode of the Peacock original comedy series. Mr Throwbackstarring Curry and Adam Pally, on September 12. The pilot will air on Thursday at 9 p.m. as part of the network’s primetime “Must See TV” era.

The step is intended to attract additional attention Mr Throwbackwhich premiered on Peacock on August 8, alongside the streamer’s Olympics coverage, which also included Curry & Co.’s quest for Olympic gold.

The half-hour, co-created and executive produced by David Caspe, ranks among the top 5 Peacock original comedy series based on first-weekend ratings of 19 comedy shows the NBCU streamer has launched so far. Not surprisingly, 77% of accounts that Mr Throwback I also watched basketball at the Olympics.

NBC has already tested episodes of Peacock original series, including Dr. Death, Kill It And No idea.

In Mr Throwback, Written and executive produced by Caspe, Matthew Libman, and Daniel Libman, a down-on-his-luck memorabilia dealer (Pally) hopes to find redemption by reuniting with his sixth-grade teammate, NBA legend Steph Curry.

Ego Nwodim and Ayden Mayeri star alongside Curry and Pally. Curry and Pally executive produce alongside Erick Peyton of Unanimous Media and David Wain, who directs. The studio is Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
