BARRE, Vermont — Thunder Road and American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials have announced a small change in the schedule for the 46th Labor Day Classic 200 presented by NEFCU/VSECU on Sunday, September 1. The annual 200-lap race will still be run on Sunday, September 1, but will be moved to an evening special edition with an afternoon start time of 4 p.m.
The annual Labor Day weekend special has always been scheduled to begin broadcasting at 1:30 p.m., but Thunder Road and ACT officials have cited several reasons for the move.
“Hopefully, by moving the event to 4pm, teams won’t have to worry about finding somewhere to stay on Saturday and will still be able to get home at a reasonable time on Sunday evening,” said Cris Michaud, Managing Partner of Thunder Road and ACT. “The head-to-head racing on Thursday nights has been fantastic this season and ACT under the lights at Thunder Road is sure to be a great show!”
Labor Day weekend camping will open on the Thunder Road property at 12:00 noon on Friday, August 30th and all campers must be vacated from the Thunder Road property by 12:00 noon on Monday, September 2nd. Dry camping is available for $40 per unit, tent camping is not permitted and authorities ask that campers not line Fisher Road or Patch Road out of respect for our neighbors.
Thunder Road is back on the final Thursday of the 2024 season with Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night on August 29th, headlined by the annual Run-What-U-Brung spectator races! On Thursday, August 29th, all four Thunder Road divisions will be represented with a 7:00 p.m. start time, with a quick turnaround to Sunday, September 1st for the NEFCU/VSECU Labor Day Classic 200. The American-Canadian Tour returns to Thunder Road for the 46th Labor Day Classic presented by NEFCU/VSECU, with a special addition of the New England Pro-4 Modifieds, as well as the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors with a special 4:00 p.m. start time.
