David Dean Drake, 66, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Cameron, WV, passed away at home on Friday, August 16, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Chicago on November 6, 1957, to the late William Drake and Veronica Erxmeyer. David was a retired pipeline worker from Local Laborers Union 1149 and a truck driver for United Van Lines for 30 years.
David was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He loved hunting, gardening and was a real family joker.
His son, David Dean Drake Jr., has predeceased him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Vicki Frye Drake; two daughters, Nicole Podobnik of Cameron and Heather (Shaun) Card of North Canton, OH; one granddaughter, London Podobnik; siblings Marie (Jeff) Pinegar, Kathleen O’Connell, Marty (Mary Sue) Adelphia, Frances Murphy, Mary Weger, Vicky (Dennis) Strauss, Kathleen Robertson; brother-in-law Mark (Lisa) Frye; nieces and nephews Jordan (Jayne) Frye, Kayla (Ryan) Edsall, Erik (Tina) Horna, Ariana (Jon) Troast, Lily (Mark) Clinton; and great nieces and nephews.
At David’s request, there will be no funeral service. Arrangements by Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1109 2nd St. Moundsville, WV.
