Nick Saban sends Ohio State Buckeyes a bold message about Ryan Day

The Ohio State Buckeyes are entering the big college football year of 2024 with high expectations. On paper, there is no reason why the team shouldn’t make it to the national championship.

In the run-up to the season, there was wild speculation about Ryan Day’s future. It was suspected that if Ohio State did not beat the The Michigan Wolverines are fighting for a long berth in the College Football Playoffs, so the Buckeyes could lose their head coach.

Needless to say, this is quite an attempt to create drama.

Day was one of the best head coaches in the country and was largely responsible for all of Ohio State’s major recruiting and transfer portal successes.

It would be a big mistake to separate from him.

Legendary college football coach Nick Saban spoke out on the subject, sending a clear message to Ohio State, stating that he is grateful for what they currently have.

“Personally, I think Ryan Day is a really good coach and I think he’s going to do a really good job with his squad. If he has the best squad, who do you think got them there? The fans should appreciate the fact that they have one of the best teams in the country.”

Saban sums it up. Rather than speculating about firing one of the best head coaches in college football, perhaps a better option would be to enjoy the moment and the position the head coach has put the team in.

There is a lot of excitement as the season begins, but the Buckeyes have a tough schedule ahead of them. They will compete against three elite teams. Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions and Michigan.

Despite all the hype and high expectations, Ohio State needs to stay grounded. Every single game needs to be played and they need to be ready and mentally prepared for every game.

Day has a tough task ahead of him. There is no point in spreading baseless rumors about his firing, and it’s probably not even remotely true.

It will be interesting to see how the season unfolds, but if Day is indeed fired if the Buckeyes don’t live up to expectations, that would be a huge mistake.
