Nick Wright mocks Tyreek Hill for claiming he’s better than Patrick Mahomes after topping NFL 100 list

Nick Wright, an American sports television personality, podcaster and former sports talk radio show host, heavily criticized Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill for his placement in the NFL’s top 100. Cheetah’s ranking opposite two-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes has sparked the most heated debate in NFL circles.

It’s been over 15 days since the NFL released its Top 100, and the trash talk, trolling, bullying, and criticism still continues. This time, NFL players voted Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill as the best player, despite his team failing to win a conference title in the previous two years.

In a recent episode of First Things First, Wright discussed Hill’s viral interview with the Up & Adams podcast, in which he claimed to be better than the Chiefs superstar, and harshly derided the wide receiver for taking pleasure in the NFL rankings despite his club being stranded since moving to the wild-card round of the playoffs.

Wright said, “I disagree with Tyreek. Chiefs fans don’t despise him, they adore him and enjoy playing against him. I don’t blame Tyreek Hill because only with a roster like that can he win. Tyreek is one of the five best wide receivers I’ve ever seen, but he’s not going to compete for a championship as long as he’s in Miami.”

Although Mahomes’ ranking behind Hill surprised many, the big wide receiver seemed to use it to his advantage. and claims he is better than the three-time Super Bowl winner. Nick Wright, a Kansas City Chiefs fan and sports pundit, didn’t mince his words when he heard how confident Hill was in his abilities.

Wright, on the other hand, said he bears no personal grudge against the NFL Cheetah for making the outrageous claim that he is better than the great quarterback. Although he believes he would not thrive in Miami, the pundit believes Hill’s individual accomplishments will undoubtedly keep him at the top.

Almost every NFL fan and pundit has criticized this season’s rankings, including Nick. When the rankings were publicly announced, even Kansas City’s social media account ranted about it, claiming Mahomes was their best player.

Although Tyreek has failed miserably to lead his team to a playoff win over the past two seasons, the key to his confidence may be his personal success, especially last year when he recorded 1,799 receiving yards, earning him the top spot on the NFL’s top 100 players of 2024, ahead of his former teammate Patrick Mahomes.

Hill himself has since indicated that he is never after individual numbers or records. When asked during a press conference a few days ago whether he was aiming for another 1,000-yard season, he said that he was no longer aiming for a 1,000- or 2,000-yard season because focusing on individual records could lead to selfishness. He is convinced that he is aiming for an improved team performance.
