The North Iowa Cedar League (NICL) has announced a ticket price adjustment for high school sporting events, effective at the start of the 2024-25 school year. Beginning next season, ticket prices for all high school sporting events across the league will increase from $5 to $7 for adults and $5 to $7 for students.
This decision was made after a careful review of the costs associated with hosting high school athletic competitions, including equipment costs, facility maintenance, referees and security. The ticket price increase is intended to help NICL member schools better manage these rising costs while continuing to provide high-quality sports experiences for students and fans.
While ticket prices for high school events will be adjusted, the NICL has decided to maintain the current $3 admission price for all middle school sporting events. This decision reflects the conference’s commitment to making sports accessible to families and encouraging younger students to participate in and attend these events.
We understand that increasing ticket prices is a significant change, but it is a necessary step to ensure we can continue to provide the best possible opportunities for our student-athletes. The additional revenue will allow us to maintain and improve our facilities, support our officials, and keep our programs running smoothly.
