The closer the next NXT Premium Live Event gets, the No mercy Scheduled for Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, the show is looking for challengers for its top titles. This week’s NXT TV episode gave us several new championship matches.
This includes:
- North American Women’s Championship: Kelani Jordan (c) against Wendy Choo
Choo stole the North American Title and put it in her trusty pillow to use as a secret weapon. She got a win over Lola Vice and then Jordan told her to earn the title instead of stealing it and offered her a title match at the big show. Choo, of course, accepted.
- Women’s Championship: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Jaida Parker
Using a tumbler, six names were drawn for a Gauntlet Eliminator Match to determine who would earn their spot. Karmen Petrovic was originally chosen, but Izzi Dame took her out in an attack in the parking lot and she was replaced by Brinley Reece. Sol Ruca performed well in the match, holding out until the end, but it was Jaida Parker who emerged victorious.
- NXT Championship: Ethan Page (c) against Joe Hendry
They booked a Triple Threat pitting Pete Dunne against Wes Lee against Joe Hendry, with the winner facing Page. Thanks to some much-needed support from Trick Williams, who landed a blow on Dunne while also leveling the playing field for Hendry, the TNA star is next in line to get a shot at the top title in the men’s division.
- North American Championship: Oba Femi (c) against Tony D’Angelo
Tony D has decided he’s done chasing the Heritage Cup and is moving on to bigger and better things. In this case, quite literally.
- Tag Team Championship: Chase U (c) vs Nathan Frazer & Axiom
Frazer & Axiom fought for a rematch and Duke Hudson & Riley Osborne offered them a match where they could potentially win the rematch by winning. That’s exactly what they did and it was later made official.
