Obituary for Grant Wayne Alexander Sheppard in Sault Ste. Marie at EUP News

Grant Wayne Alexander Sheppard, age 27, of Brutus, Michigan, died August 4, 2024 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. He was born July 9, 1997 in Petoskey to Scott Steven and Wendy Lee (Findlay) Sheppard.

Grant was known for his big hugs, love and genuine care for people. It’s true, big things come in small packages. Even at a young age, you could recognize him from a crowd by his unique laugh. As a child, he loved playing pranks on his mother and brother. He made every event, even an anniversary, the biggest joyous celebration. Every house came alive when he walked in.

Grant grew up in Brutus and graduated from Penn Foster High School in 2018. He attended North Central Michigan University and earned his degree in applied accounting. He enjoyed working for Koehler Services (now Two Raven Solutions). Grant worked in accounting and tax preparation.

Grant was a member of the Brutus Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Brutus. He enjoyed sharing his faith and the hope of the Bible with everyone he met.

Grant is survived by his parents Scott and Wendy, his brother Shawn (Miriam) Sheppard of Williamsburg, Michigan, his grandparents Robert and Roberta Findlay of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, and Gloria Sheppard of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Grant’s grandfather, Wayne Sheppard, had already died before him.

He had many uncles and aunts, cousins ​​whom he loved and who loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Brutus Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3069 Jackie Ln., Brutus, MI 49716.

The final resting place is in the Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Bruce Township, Michigan.
