Obituary for Robert “Darrin” Tate | August 10, 2024 | Hart’s Morgue and Cremation Center

Darrin was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2024. He was born in Mobile, Alabama on December 21, 1970, but moved to Gray, Georgia at a young age. He grew up in Gray and graduated from Jones County High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he proudly served for six years. He also drove 18-wheelers for several years. For the past 15 years, he worked as a bus driver and mechanic for the Jones County school system. Darrin loved the outdoors, guns, his dogs, cold beer, and talking to people. He was extremely proud to serve his country as a U.S. Marine.

Darrin’s mother, Brenda Jane Jenkins, predeceased him. He is survived by his daughter Andria Childree (Chris), his son Robert Kelley (Ashley), his father Jesse Darryl Tate (Patti), his brother Darryl Alan Tate (Doretha), his sister Christina Munro (Davie), his girlfriend Eva Purslow, his nieces Tiffany Wiley (Marcus) and Georgia Munro, and several grandchildren.

We thank Darrin for his service. He was a loving man who will be missed by all of us.

There will be a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
