Octavian gives a preview of an unreleased collaboration with Drake during the concert: Watch

Octavian and Drake have admired each other’s talent for years. The latter rapped along to Octavian’s single “Party Here” at a Golden Globes party back in 2018. Octavian returned the love by sampling Drake’s “Chicago Freestyle” in a song in May. The 6 God took note and reposted the song on his Insta – the real one, not the plot-twist account that’s taken the internet by storm. Drake has been keeping his fans well fed over the past few weeks, but Octavian has decided to flood the streets with even more Drizzy music. At a show on August 27, he previewed an unreleased collaboration.

First off, the concert looks wild. The quality of the footage isn’t the best, but Octavian is clearly giving fans what they came for. The most exciting part, however, is the music. Octavian dances around the stage and raps along to his verse. Then we hear Drake spit. The snippet is only thirty seconds long, but it’s long enough to realize that Octavian and Drake have a banger in store. The crowd is definitely excited. It also sounds like Drizzy is imitating his British accent in the untitled song. Considering Octavian is a leading voice in the current drill scene, the decision makes sense.

Octavian and Drake have been rocking since 2018

Drake’s passion for UK rap is undeniable. He was arguably the least successful in terms of crossover hits, but the rapper has continued to embrace the sound and style of drill. He released two drill songs on More lifeand two more in 2020 Dark Lane demo tapes. This has led to widespread criticism from British artists who feel that Drake is playing the culture vulture card. He addressed this criticism during a 2019 interview with BBC.

In Drake’s eyes, he’s helping to bring a sound he loves into the spotlight. “That’s really confused hater shit,” the rapper told the outlet. “I see that a lot. I’ll never understand what it’s like to endorse somebody’s song or to go a step further and give somebody a song, to join in. I’ll never understand how that’s not seen as something admirable.” Octavian is one of the British rappers who agrees with Drake. He gave the rapper flowers for the co-sign, but made it clear that he wants to use the co-sign to build his own brand. “It proves that anything is possible,” he said pitchforkWe keep our fingers crossed that we will hear the complete collaboration soon.
