Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast, August 14, 2024 – Ohio Ag Net

Rainy days ahead for a few more days, but we’re watching quite a weather system brewing west of us. Today will be a little warmer than yesterday, and humidity is finally starting to rise. Tomorrow we should see partly to mostly sunny skies across much of the state and much of the day, but we’re not ruling out isolated showers moving into western Ohio in the early to mid afternoon before moving east more heavily tomorrow night into Friday. Rainfall amounts during the Thursday night into Friday period will be 0.25 to 0.1 inches, with a precipitation density of about 90%. The low pressure system will then slow down and creep through the Great Lakes over the weekend, moving across Michigan into Ontario. This constellation will forecast on-and-off rain showers across much of Ohio through Saturday and Sunday. We can expect additional rainfall of up to a half inch over the weekend. So the combined moisture from the start of the rain later tomorrow through Sunday will be 0.25 to 2 inches, as shown on the map below.

Next week is a little drier. It will remain humid with temperatures near normal. We can’t rule out a sudden shower here and there, and the best chance of moisture will probably come on Tuesday. Overall, though, we don’t see anything significant until at least Friday of next week. The weather pattern to the west also points to a dry end, with our next well-organized front pushing through to the weekend of the 24th and 25th.
