What is the story

A 40-year-old man from Ohio, USA, was arrested for stabbing his parents over an argument.

The accused, identified as Kenneth Mortimer, is said to have stabbed his parents after they refused to allow him to stay overnight with them.

While the mother succumbed to her injuries, the father is reportedly in a critical condition.

Mortimer was charged with murder and attempted murder.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Friday at the Mortimers’ residence in Green Township, Ohio.

Mortimer’s 74-year-old mother, Barbara, reportedly told him he could not stay overnight.

The argument escalated when Barbara asked her husband Thomas Mortimer to call 911.

Then Kenneth grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his parents as they sat on the couch.

Mortimer is arrested

Although Barbara was stabbed, she tried to escape, but Kenneth overpowered her and dragged her back into the house. He then fled the scene. He was later arrested by the police.

When he was arrested, Kenneth confessed to stabbing his parents to death. A Hamilton County judge set his bail at $2 million.

Barbara succumbed to her injuries, while Thomas is still in serious condition at the local hospital.

Last month, a 20-year-old Indiana man was charged with strangling his mother after she told him to clean his room and get a full-time job.

Connor Kobold, a student at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, called 911 five times to report a dead person in his Valparaiso home.

When the police arrived, Kobold turned himself in and confessed to the crime.
