Ohio State football freshman plays great game in first high school game of the year

Friday night was the first night of high school football across Ohio. Teams began playing football on this wonderful night to pursue their dreams of winning a state championship across the state. The best high school player in the country plays in Ohio and is an Ohio State football recruit.

That player is Tavien St. Clair of Bellefontaine High School. The quarterback wants to finish his high school career with a state title, which will be very difficult. Bellefontaine is a smaller school and they will have to compete against some strong teams to win a title.

St. Clair was named the best recruit in the country a few weeks ago, and in his first game of the season, he did not disappoint. He and his team faced Sidney, one of the better teams on their schedule. St. Clair made mincemeat of them and led his team to victory.

In his opening game, St. Clair led the Chieftains to a 48-27 victory. St. Clair scored a total of five touchdowns in that game, three passing and two running. Every time he stepped on the field, he was clearly the best player on the field and could not be stopped.

That’s something St. Clair will have in every single game he plays. Still, there are a few games on the schedule that could be lost. Westerville Central is a good team again this year, as is Jonathan Alder. Those two teams will be the toughest he faces.

St. Clair has a real chance to compete for the starting quarterback spot when he joins the Buckeyes next year. If he continues like this in high school, Ohio State football fans will want him in the starting lineup from day one.
