ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio State volleyball team will open the 2024 season with its first home game, the Bobcat Invitational, presented by the Athens County Convention & Visitors Bureau, at the Convocation Center on Friday, August 30 and Saturday, August 31.

Friday, August 30th:
Xavier vs. App State – 10:30 a.m.
App State vs. Wright State – 4:30 p.m.
Ohio vs. Xavier – 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 31st:
Wright State vs. Xavier – 10:30 a.m.
Ohio vs. App State – 1:00 p.m.
Ohio vs Wright State – 7:00 p.m.

The Bobcat Invitational also features three other Division I volleyball teams: Xavier, Appalachian State and Wright State.
Xavier finished fourth in the Big East last season with an 11-7 conference record and 18-2 overall record. The Musketeers return eight players for the 2023 season who contributed to the team’s upset win over nationally ranked Creighton and victory over Ohio’s MAC opponent Buffalo.
App State finished the 2023 season with a 14-15 overall record and a 4-12 conference record. The Mountaineers finished sixth in the Sun Belt’s East Division last season. In the postseason, App State entered the conference tournament and lost to Troy in the second round of games.
In 2023, Wright State won the Horizon League regular season and tournament title after compiling a 21-11 overall record and a 15-3 conference record. The Raiders made their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last five seasons. Travers Green, the 2023 Horizon League Coach of the Year, returns two players who were selected to the Horizon League second team. Last fall, the Raiders defeated Ohio’s MAC opponent Ball State in four sets.
2024 MAC PRESEASON COACHES AND ALL-MAC POLL
Ohio was selected to finish fifth overall and received 84 points in the 2024 Mid-American Conference Volleyball Preseason Poll, as announced by the league on Monday, August 26. Junior Anna Charchinska (Kiev, Ukraine) was named to the 2024 Preseason All-MAC Team.
