OKC legend discusses which Thunder era is better

Since the Oklahoma City Thunder was founded in 2008, there have been a lot of successful players and teams. But which team would win in a head-to-head comparison?

This exact question was asked to Thunder legend Steven Adams on the podcast “The Morning Shift.”

Adams, who was drafted 12th overall by the Thunder in 2013, played seven seasons for the franchise, averaging nearly ten points per game and over seven rebounds.

When asked which OKC Thunder team would win, the 2013-14 team or the 2023-24 team, Adams weighed the pros and cons of both teams.

Adams talked about how Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were already experienced stars at the time of his draft, as Kevin Durant won the Most Valuable Player award that same season. Adams also said that the current roster is very young and still has time to develop.

Still, Adams praised current Thunder players Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Luguentz Dort, saying how talented and skilled each of them is.

Who do you think would have the upper hand? Here’s how the two teams would compare:

2013–14: Russell Westbrook, Thabo Sefolosha, Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins.

2023–24: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, Luguentz Dort, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren.
