Las Vegas (LAS) — Opportunity Village invites its residents to participate in a fun new project.
Through August 30, the nonprofit is collecting memorabilia at its four campus locations for its upcoming 70th anniversary time capsule project.
Collection boxes are located at the front reception areas at the following locations:
- Opportunity Village Ralph & Betty Engelstad Campus, 6050 S. Buffalo Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89113
- Opportunity Village Linda Smith & Christopher Smith Family Campus, 6300 W. Oakey Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146
- Opportunity Village North Campus, 4180 W. Craig Road, North Las Vegas, NV 89031
- Opportunity Village Walters Family Campus, 451 E. Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson, NV 89015
The time capsule will be placed at the site of the planned Betty’s Village North and Northwest Opportunity Village Campus, located at Thom and Rome Boulevards near I-215 and North Decatur Boulevard.
Groundbreaking for Opportunity Village is planned for this fall, with the pod scheduled to open in 30 years, on the nonprofit’s 100th anniversary.
Suggested donations include historical photographs taken at Opportunity Village or the Magical Forest or other event memorabilia, newspaper clippings, or memories from past Opportunity Village participants.
The organization asks donors to only donate items that they do not mind returning. Due to space limitations, not all items will be considered.
