There are countless earbud options out there, all the way up to high-end units that are packed with features and deliver great sound. But there are also plenty of options in this space for people looking for solid earbuds that work well and aren’t too expensive.

Our pick for the Soundcore by Anker Space A40. You’re in luck because this model has dropped back in price. It often retails for $80, so that’s a $31 discount. Considering we felt the Space A40 was good value even at full retail price, this is a strong offer.

Our pick of the best budget wireless earbuds has dropped to their absolute lowest price again. You can grab a set of Soundcore by Anker Space A40 earbuds for $49.

The lightweight earbuds should be comfortable to wear even for extended listening sessions. Battery life is 10 hours, with the charging case providing an additional 40 hours of listening time. Anker says 10 minutes of quick charging extends listening time by four hours.

As you might expect from a cheaper pair of earbuds, the sound profile isn’t as detailed as higher-end models, although they do offer warm tones and decent bass performance. The EQ settings are customizable in the Soundcore app, as are the touch controls.

The Space A40 earbuds are IPX4 waterproof, so they should easily withstand everyday sweat and light rain. You can use each earbud independently and connect them to two devices at the same time.

What really makes the Space A40 stand out compared to rival models is the active noise cancellation (ANC), which works very well for earbuds in this price range. The adaptive ANC technology adjusts the intensity of the noise cancellation depending on the environment. However, higher-pitched sounds are not completely blocked out. You also have the option to manually adjust the ANC levels. The transparency mode isn’t bad either.

The downside is that the microphone quality isn’t fantastic, so people on the other end of a phone call might not hear you particularly clearly. There’s also no automatic pause when you take an earbud out, but these are minor quibbles considering how well the Space A40 earbuds perform in other areas.
