Overdose information will be available at Wayne County locations starting August 30

Wayne County Coalitions is partnering with OneEighty and other civic groups to provide information and resources on overdose deaths at various locations on Friday, August 30.

Information stands can be found here:

  • OneEighty, Wooster: 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Orrville Goodwill: 4-6 p.m.
  • Orrville YMCA: 9am-11am

Wayne County Public Library Locations

  • Creston Branch: 3-5 p.m.
  • Rittman Branch: 3-5pm
  • Shreve Branch: 3-5 p.m.
  • Wooster Branch: 12:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.

In the United States, overdose is the leading cause of death among people ages 18 to 45. According to the Wayne County Coalitions, there will be 107,543 overdose deaths in 2023.

International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is observed annually on August 30 to increase understanding of overdoses, reduce the stigma of substance-related deaths, and create change that reduces the harms associated with substance use.
