Paramount+ puts the finishing touches on the 80s hair metal documentary

Paramount+ has released the official trailer for its new documentary series about 80s hair metal: “Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story of 80s Hair Metal.”

The series premieres September 17 exclusively on Paramount+ in the US and Canada, and September 18 in other markets. The docuseries is directed by Jeff Tremaine and is a three-part series exploring the infamously wild hard rock scene of the ’80s, featuring interviews with those who lived it, including Bret Michaels, Stephen Pearcy, Nuno Bettencourt, Dave “Snake” Sabo, Riki Rachtman, Corey Taylor, Steve-O and many more.

“I’m honored to be a part of this docuseries named after Poison’s hit ‘Nothin’ But A Good Time,'” says Bret Michaels about the new series. “I’m excited for viewers to get a fresh look at the fans and bands, the highs and lows, and to celebrate the music and good times of the ’80s and beyond. I hope audiences have as much fun as I did, and I can’t wait to give them an inside look at some of those notoriously crazy moments!”

Based on the book “Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored History of the ’80s Hard Rock Explosion'” by rock journalists Tom Beaujour and Richard Bienstock, the series delivers a fresh and shockingly candid look behind the scenes of one of music’s most iconic eras. Each episode reveals the madness and fiery ambition that thrilled generations of music lovers and continues to influence the culture today.

“If you want to relive that explosive decade, this is as close as you can get,” said Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy of the book on which the docuseries is based. “All here, right now.”

Executive producers of the docuseries are Jeff Tremaine and Shanna Newton for Gorilla Flicks, Eric Wattenberg, Scott Lonker and Will Nothacker for Wheelhouse’s Spoke Studios, Erik Olsen and Bruce Gillmer and Michael Maniaci for MTV Entertainment Studios. Richard Bienstock and Tom Beaujour serve as co-producers of the series.
