ATHENS, Ohio – And so the 2024-25 season has begun, and the Ohio football team, the defending Mid-American Conference champions, opens the 2024 season on the road. This week at Paw Prints, you’ll find out everything that’s coming up for Ohio Athletics.

FOOTBALL

August 15 / at Butler / Indianapolis, Indiana / Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl / 7:00 p.m. ET / Live Stats

The defending MAC championship Ohio State team opens the 2024 season this week when it travels to Indianapolis, Indiana, to begin the season at Butler. First contact is set for 7 p.m. in the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl. The Bobcats’ matchup against the Bulldogs will be Ohio’s first of three consecutive road games to open the season.

The Bobcats return 19 players from last season’s championship squad, including the MAC Tournament MVP. Scout MurrayAll-MAC Goalkeeper Celeste Sloma and selection of the All-Tournament Team, Eva Berish.

The Bobcats welcome 12 new additions to the squad, nine freshmen and three transfer players, including defenders Norah Roush from Miami, goalkeeper Molly Pisso from Drexel and midfielder Lilly O’Rourke from DePaul.

Ohio will play its first three games on the road, facing Butler and Northern Kentucky, and will also see a rematch of Ohio’s first round of the NCAA Tournament when the Bobcats return to East Lansing to face Michigan State.

Ohio opens the season at home against Valpo on Sunday, September 1.
