Pokémon TCG Pocket is launched Wednesday October 30, 2024.

Previously, the Pokémon Company had officially stated that the game would be released “within 2024,” so it’s good to see that the target window was not missed.

With no other Pokémon games announced, that leaves a full year between Pokémon TCG Pocket and the upcoming Pokémon Legends ZA, unless, of course, no new titles are announced to coincide with the upcoming next-gen version of Switch 2.

On which consoles and platforms can Pokémon TCG Pocket be played?

Pokémon TCG Pocket will be released exclusively for mobile devices on iOS and Android devices.

The project is being developed jointly by The Pokémon Company, Creatures Inc (the developers of the Pokémon Trading Card Game) and DeNA (Pokémon Masters EX).

There is no announcement from either studio as to whether the game will be released for other platforms. However, if it is successful, it could be released for Nintendo Switch at a later date.

Pokémon TCG Pocket can now be pre-ordered via pre-registrationThe game will be released on mobile devices as a free-to-start game.

Players can “open two packs per day for free” simply by logging into the game. After that, real money will likely need to be exchanged to access more cards.

Game details for Pokémon TCG Pocket

The gameplay of Pokémon TCG Pocket seems to revolve around opening booster packssimilar to the real-life experience that helped make Pokémon the phenomenon it is today.

These cards can then be arranged in different variations, such as glossy and “immersive” with an enhanced background.

So far, the appearance of Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Snorlax, Charizard, Aquana, Moltres, Haunter, Meowth and others has been confirmed.

A “simplified” version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game and its rules allows players to use their cards in battle, which are quick battles that can be played whenever you have a free moment.

“Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket introduces ‘immersive cards’ that allow players to immerse themselves in the world of card illustrations, providing a whole new way to enjoy the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

“Players can open two booster packs for free every day, including cards with nostalgic illustrations as well as new cards only available in the app.

“In addition, players can engage in fast-paced battles with streamlined rules based on the classic Pokémon Trading Card Game battle system.”

Is there a Pokémon TCG Pocket Trailer?

YesA new trailer for Pokémon TCG Pocket was recently released, announcing the release date. Check it out above!

The one-and-a-half minute trailer shows players pushing packages, trading with friends and fighting.

We also get a better look at the immersive scenes, especially at Mewtwo, who appears to be fleeing. The camera zooms in on the window he broke before cutting to black. Perhaps we can unravel a bigger mystery this way.
