Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is an optimized TCG experience for your phone

During the closing ceremony of the Pokémon World Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii, The Pokémon Company unveiled a trailer for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, a new game based on the popular trading card game coming to mobile devices on October 30.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is a streamlined TCG experience where players can open packs and collect cards with a simple swipe of a finger. Collected cards are stored in in-game albums and players can build decks and compete against friends in quick matches. All of this is shown off in the new trailer.

The app will include both existing cards and cards exclusive to Pokemon TCG Pocket, including some with special artwork that can be rotated to create a simulated 3D effect. “Immersive” cards immerse the player in the world of card art, offering them an expanded look at the full artwork of the featured Pokemon.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is the official Pokemon TCG mobile app alongside Pokemon Trading Card Game Live. Live offers the complete TCG experience—collecting, battling, and full competitions are all in the game—while Pocket is intended to be a simpler, easy-to-learn way to play with digital Pokemon cards.

Other announcements from the Pokémon World Championships include the addition of Armarouge, Darkrai, and Psyduck to Pokémon Unite, an apparent tease of Gigantamax transformations in Pokémon Go, and the return of Trainer Pokémon to the Pokémon Trading Card Game, with N’s Zoroark and Marnie’s Grimmsnarl among the cards revealed.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will be released for iOS and Android devices on October 30. Pre-registration is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
