Police Chief John Drake elected chairman of the board of the Washington, DC-based Police Executive Research Organization

Nashville, Tenn. (TN Tribune) – Police Chief John Drake was just elected board chair of the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), the nation’s leading independent research organization focused on critical issues in policing. The results of the nomination and election process were announced to members this week.

“I am honored to lead the PERF Board as we continue the important work of advancing law enforcement professionalism while providing information on issues and cutting-edge practices in policing,” said Chief Drake.

“John Drake embodies the qualities that will make him a great PERF president,” said Chuck Wexler, PERF’s executive director. “John’s commitment to best practices in policing and his deep commitment to the Nashville community reflect the values ​​of our organization.”

PERF, based in Washington, DC, has more than 3,000 members. The board members all lead law enforcement agencies. In addition to Chief Drake, the board includes:

  • Police Chief Kathy Lester, Sacramento, California Police Department, Vice President
  • Police Chief Brian O’Hara, Minneapolis Minnesota Police Department, Secretary
  • Commissioner Robert Tracy, St. Louis, Missouri Police Department, Member without Portfolio
  • Chief Ana Lalley, Elgin, Illinois Police Department, non-executive member
  • Chief Johnny Jennings, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, non-executive member
  • Chief Constable Adam Palmer, Vancouver Police Department, ex officio member
