In a new interview with DJ Akademiks, Polo G spoke about the high-profile rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, which continues to spark heated debates among their fans despite officially ending in May. The climax of this clash was Kendrick Lamar’s song “Not Like Us,” which became one of the biggest hits of 2024.

When Polo G was asked to take sides in the ongoing feud, he chose to remain neutral. Akademiks then redirected the conversation and asked Polo G about his favorite song from the fight. Polo G chose “Not Like Us,” becoming the latest in a line of artists to praise the track’s impact. Akademiks, known for his critical stance on Kendrick Lamar, surprisingly praised the track as a “bop,” showing a rare recognition of Lamar’s success.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” marked a significant milestone in his career, becoming his first number one single since “HUMBLE.” from his 2017 DAMNED. album. The track has been streamed over 650 million times on Spotify, making it the most streamed diss track on the platform. It was also recently nominated for Song of the Year at the VMAs. The song’s impact was so strong that it was even banned from Michael Rubin’s Fourth of July celebration to avoid tension with Drake, who was attending the event.
