Price increase for PlayStation 5 makes gamers angry

At this point, it is common knowledge that Sony’s PlayStation 5 is in the second half of its life cycle.

Even when Sony announced it, it wasn’t really news to us.

A quick look at PlayStation’s launch history shows that most consoles are typically on the market for six to seven years.

With this in mind, the PlayStation 6 could be launched in 2026 or 2027.

There are still a few years to go and Sony is obviously not finished with the PlayStation 5 yet.

Many big titles are on the way, including the long-awaited Death Stranding 2: On the beachThe market launch is planned for next year.

It is also rumored that a PlayStation 5 Pro will be announced very soon.

There have been rumors about the console among insiders for some time, and the popular theory now is that it will be revealed at a State of Play event in September.

Of course, you should treat this information with caution.

With this in mind, the performance of the PlayStation 5 is certainly not on the decline, but the opposite is not the case either.

Therefore, it is understandable why some fans are outraged that the console has just increased in price in some regions.

Exclusively for PlayStation 5 Astro Bot starts very soon on September 6th.

PlayStation fans in Japan now have to shell out even more money if they want to get their hands on the console.

The price increase will take effect on September 2nd and will affect a number of hardware parts.

As Famitsu reports, the price of the PlayStation 5 with disc drive will increase from 66,980 yen to 79,980 yen, while the price of the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will increase from 59,980 yen to 72,980 yen.

DualSense wireless controllers now cost 9,480 yen (down from 11,480 yen), and the PlayStation VR2 headset costs 74,980 yen (down from 89,980 yen).

At this point, one would expect a price decline, not the opposite.

The only consolation I can offer is that hopefully many of us PlayStation fans already own the PS5 by now.

If not, then this is certainly not good news for you.
