Provincetown Carnival 2024 Schedule: What to Do Today

play

It’s day 5 of Provincetown Carnival Week. Today’s program includes two pool parties and at least 15 shows.

The 2024 theme week, “Renaissance x Revolution,” will take place August 17-24. The tip of Cape Cod is expected to be full of rainbows, feathers, big hairstyles, and plenty of costumes with nods to Marie Antoinette and Beyoncé.

In addition to the highly anticipated parade down Commercial Street on August 22nd (no beads!), there are pool parties, dance parties, drag queen shows, dress-up opportunities and a boat cruise throughout the week, to name just a few of the festive summer activities.

We provide you with an up-to-date list of activities for each day of Carnival.

Here are some of the events planned for today:

Watch a show – or three

There are about 15 shows on Wednesdays. Elton Undressed: Todd Sings Elton John is at 7 p.m. at the Crown & Anchor, 247 Commercial St., Ginger Minj in the Broads’ Way 2: Electric Boobaloo is at 8 p.m. at the Art House, 214 Commercial St., and Hey Bitch! A Journey to Planet Bitch is at 8:30 p.m. at the Post Office Cafe & Cabaret, 303 Commercial St., to name a few.

Also on Wednesday, drag queen Sapphira Cristál — one of the grand marshals of Thursday’s parade, a classically trained opera singer and contestant on the final season of RuPaul’s Drag Race — will perform a one-off show at Provincetown City Hall at 260 Commercial St. at 8:30 p.m.

Choose a party

There are two pool parties on Wednesdays. Both run from noon to 4 p.m. The Summer Camp Pool Party hosted by Helltown Fitness is at the Crown & Anchor, while the Make Waves Babes and Bois Carnival Pool Party with Clam Jam is at the Seaglass Inn and Spa at 105 Bradford St. Extension.

The Boatslip Resort and Beach Club hosts a dance party every Carnival day from 4-7 p.m. at 161 Commercial St. Themes change throughout the week. On August 21, the Solid Gold Tea Dance will be held, featuring dance music from the ’70s and ’80s and classic disco.

In the evening, the Opulence: A Diamond and Pearls Dance Party takes place in the Red Room from 10 p.m.

Go kayaking or paddleboarding – or try yoga

Coyote Kayaks, located at 333R Commercial St., Unit 1, offers several paddleboard and kayak excursions from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day during Carnival. Rental options include Bayside, the Salt Marsh Eco Tour and “Boy Beach Paddle.”

The Yoga Joint, located at the same address as Coyote Kayaks, offers classes every morning.
