Public comment period opens for Ohio 138 bridge replacement

CHILLICOTHE – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation Planning Division, District 9, the district’s environmental office is seeking public input on a bridge replacement project on Ohio 138 in Ross County.

ROS-138-17.28 (PID 115773) It is proposed to replace the existing structure on Ohio 138 between Ohio 207 and Stingy Lane.

  • The project is located in the residential area of ​​Deerfield Township.
  • No new rights of way are required for the project.
  • The project will not destroy any homes or businesses.
  • The project is financed 80% by the federal government and 20% by the states.
  • The roadway will remain open for the duration of the project.

The environmental commitment date is 10/1/2024. The project is currently expected to be awarded on 10/1/2025. The environmental assessment, consultation, and other actions required under applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being or have been conducted by ODOT pursuant to 23 USC 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2020, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.

Sixteenth supercharge goes out on August 22nd

COLUMBUS – The sixteenth of nearly two dozen superloads will depart the port facility in Adams County on Thursday, Aug. 22. The convoy will head to New Albany to deliver the cargo to the site of Intel’s new plant in Licking County.

The 16th load is a tank. It is 19 feet tall, 16 feet wide and 200 feet long. It weighs 390,000 pounds. It will stop in Chillicothe on Thursday and Rickenbacker in Franklin County on Friday before being delivered to New Albany on Saturday, August 24.
