A wanted fugitive and kidnapping suspect who escaped from a Lancaster hospital under police escort two months ago was arrested Friday in northwest Ohio, the U.S. Marshals said in a news release.

Quinntel Bagley, 38, was arrested in Lima, Ohio, in the 400 block of Cornell Drive in Allen County. He is in custody at the Allen County Jail, where he will remain pending an extradition hearing, according to the U.S. Marshals. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Lima police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted in Bagley’s arrest.

Michael D. Black, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, told The Dispatch on Friday that they had received “a good tip” on Bagley’s whereabouts and that Bagley had a girlfriend in Lima who lived in the house where he was hiding. Black said that while Bagley did not resist arrest, officers had to enter the house to arrest him.

Black said there is evidence that Bagley was driven to Lima by at least one friend, and that person could face charges during the investigation. Black could not say what type of charges might be brought against the person or people.

Bagley was arrested by Fairfield County Sheriff’s officials on June 13 on charges of kidnapping and burglary in connection with his ex-girlfriend. Bagley was treated at Fairfield Medical Center for injuries sustained while attempting to harm himself, according to Grove City police.

Police said that after escaping from custody, Bagley broke into a home in the 700 block of Pleasantville Road in Lancaster, near the hospital, by climbing through an unlocked second-floor window, then coming down the stairs and surprising a woman and her children. The intimidated woman gave Bagley the keys to her 2019 Hyundai Sante Fe, and Bagley took her purse and drove away, according to a witness.

Bagley was last seen in Columbus’ Hilltop area early on the morning of Aug. 2 after kidnapping the same woman he abducted in June. The woman told police Bagley abducted her from her Grove City home for the second time and drove her to the Hilltop area. The female victim said she escaped Bagley unharmed and last saw him near Eureka Avenue and West Broad Street, according to Grove City police.
