Tottenham Hotspur have extended an invitation to American rap icon Lil Wayne after he surprised fans by announcing that Spurs were his “favourite team” in the Premier League.
The unexpected announcement came during an Instagram Live session where the 41-year-old rapper watched a game while working in his studio.
During the live broadcast, Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., said: “I’m in the studio here watching the Premier League. You already know my favorite team is Tottenham. I don’t know if you know this, but that’s my favorite team.”

Lil Wayne’s love for the Spurs goes viral
The revelation quickly caught the attention of Tottenham’s social media team, who responded immediately. On X (formerly Twitter), the club posted: “Hey @LilTunechi, when are you coming to the game?”
Lil Wayne, widely considered one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation, is currently preparing for a US tour that begins in Las Vegas on August 31.
Although his schedule is full until October, a visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could be on the cards later in the year.
Tottenham, on the other hand, started their Premier League season with a draw against Leicester City and a convincing 4-0 win over Everton.
Spurs now prepare for a crucial clash with Newcastle United on September 1st and who knows, maybe Lil Wayne will make an appearance at a future game.
