“Ready to get back to work”: Karen Keith reacts to the close election result for Tulsa mayor

Tulsa mayoral candidates Karen Keith and Monroe Nichols were neck and neck all night long, both advancing to the November runoff.

The difference between second and third place was only 436.

“We’re ready to get back to work. We’re going to run a good, bipartisan campaign like we did the first time around, and we hope to get everyone on the outside involved,” Karen Keith said. “We’re going to win this thing in November.”

When asked what the election campaign would bring, Keith’s conversation was all about engagement.

“We’re going to continue to engage with our citizens,” Keith said. “Because the great thing about running for office is you hear what our citizens have to say and what they think, what the issues are. If you can continue to do that and bring people to the center and have them participate in local government, you can’t be on the sidelines. You have to be in the center and be able to facilitate collaboration and make things work. And I’m so grateful that I have the FOP, you know, and I have the firefighters and the development community all supporting me, and I think we’re going to bring everyone back together and get this thing moving forward and done.”
