Regions Bank declares card issues resolved and apologizes for inconvenience to customers

UPDATE: Regions Bank reports bank cards are now working.

Spokeswoman Ashley Foster says:

This morning we were made aware of an issue where debit cards are being declined for certain transactions, including at ATMs. All affected services have now been restored and transactions are processing as normal. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers – and we thank our technical teams for their diligence in quickly resolving this.

Region Bank customers reported problems with their bank-issued cards on Monday morning.

ABC 33/40 reached out to the Birmingham-based company to better understand what’s going on.

A spokeswoman, Ashley Foster, forwarded a statement saying:

Our technology team is working closely with Visa to resolve this issue. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience and are committed to resolving this matter as quickly as possible. We will keep you updated through our call center and social media channels as triage continues.
