A piece Episode No. 1116, “Let’s get it! Buggy’s big explanationbegan with Buggy making a big show of paying someone to kill Vice Admiral T Bone, only to be beaten up behind closed doors by Crocodile and Mihawk. While they discussed their intentions for Cross Guild, Buggy thought back to the day of Roger’s execution and his argument with Shanks. During said flashback, it was revealed that Buggy hates Shanks because he gave up on becoming Pirate King after Roger’s deathand Buggy wondered why he was suddenly doing something.

Buggy told Crocodile and Mihawk that they needed to think bigger with the power they had, but both thought that Buggy was stupid for intentionally wanting to start a fight with people they could easily avoid. Still, Buggy contacted the rest of the Cross Guild and told them that they would find the One Pieceand while it sent everyone into a frenzy, Crocodile and Mihawk were visibly annoyed at the path Buggy was trying to force on them.

While this was happening, shortly after Kuma fled to Mary Geoise, the revolutionary army experienced another surprise when Sabo, who was believed to have been killed when Imu destroyed the kingdom of Lulusia, returned alive to the kingdom of KamabakkaDespite the way A piece Episode #1089 set things up so that Sabo did indeed speak to Dragon somewhere outside of Lulusia, and he and some survivors escaped destruction, much to everyone’s delight. Despite this, Dragon and Ivankov still had to learn the truth about what happened in the Levely, and the episode ended with Sabo preparing to do just that.

Why Sabo sounds different in One Piece episode 1116

For long-time viewers of the A piece Anime, it becomes immediately clear that Sabo’s voice sounds very different than it has in the last decade, and there is an unfortunate reason for this. Sabo’s previous voice actor, Toru Furuya, stepped down from the role after years of adultery and domestic violence came to light, and as such Miyu Irino, best known as Sora in Kingdom HeartsSabo will lend his voice in the foreseeable futureBut as of episode 1116, Irino seems to be a great replacement and it will be exciting to see what else he brings to the table.

Sabo prepares to discuss Levely with Dragon and Ivankov

While A piece Episode #1116 was one of the rare episodes without any action, but it was still fun to watch from start to finish. The revelation of Buggy’s true reason for hating Shanks, coupled with his renewed determination to become Pirate King, did a great job of fleshing out his character, and showing the flashback to his fight with Shanks in a cropped aspect ratio was an effective way to highlight the flashback. Buggy’s popularity has always been largely based on irony, but episode #1116 did a good job of establishing why he’s been around for nearly 30 years.

As for the second half, it was pretty obvious that Sabo wasn’t dead, but seeing him alive and kicking was still great, if only because everyone else was so happy to see him alive, and most importantly, A piece Episode #1116 built up the tension well as Sabo prepares to reveal what happened during the Levely War.. Once A piece comes back from break, it dives straight into one of its biggest storylines yet and it’s sure to be great to watch.

Must watch A piece Episode #1117 when it airs Saturday, August 31st.
