REPORT | AJ McKee vs. Paul Hughes in sight for upcoming PFL PPV card

AJ McKee vs. Paul Hughes in sights for Francis Ngannou PFL card

Hughes, who has won six fights in a row, will be making his second appearance under the Bellator/PFL banner. He made his Bellator debut in June against Bobby King by second-round TKO.

Hughes made his name with the Cage Warriors before signing with Bellator/PFL as a free agent. He was expected to appear on the UFC’s radar but decided to sign elsewhere after receiving what was reportedly an under-offer.

After a split decision loss to Jordan Vucenic in 2020, Hughes won the interim featherweight title against Morgan Charriere at Cage Warriors 128. He defeated Vucenic in their rematch for the lineal featherweight title.

The October 19 PFL Super Fights card will be headlined by a fight between Francis Ngannou and Renan Ferreira. This will be Ngannou’s PFL debut and his first MMA fight since January 2022.

McKee vs. Hughes isn’t the only exciting fight on the supporting card. Cris Cyborg also returns to face two-time PFL title winner Larissa Pacheco in the co-main event.
