The fake identity card confiscated by police stated that it was valid until January 2025.
Vidhana Soudha police in Bengaluru on Tuesday arrested a man who allegedly used an identity card and claimed to be the personal secretary of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. After examining the card, the police found it to be fake and confirmed that there was no such position in the Chief Minister’s office.

According to a report in Times of India, the accused is 40-year-old Shrishail Jakkannavar, a resident of Dharwad. On August 5, CM Siddaramaiah’s deputy secretary Arun Furtando found that a man had used an identity card and posed as CM Siddaramaiah’s PS. The fake identity card, which was confiscated by the police, stated that it was valid till January 2025.
The accused was caught while showing the fake ID at the entrance gate of Vidhana Soudha and trying to get inside. During questioning, Jakkannavar said that he works in the CM’s office. However, no cases or complaints have been filed against Jakkanavar and the police are investigating where he misused the ID.

Last year, a 72-year-old man named Thipperudrappa managed to enter the Vidhana Soudha assembly hall posing as the MP from Molakalmuru. He even attended the budget presentation of CM Siddaramaiah. His presence in the assembly was first noticed by Janata Dal (Secular) JD(S) MP from Gurmitkal Sharana Gowda Kandakur, who saw Thipperudrappa sitting on a seat reserved for the Devadurga JD(S) MP and informed the Superintendent of Police, following which the man was arrested.
