Ricochet fits much better in AEW than in WWE

Booker T shares his thoughts on Ricochet joining AEW.

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet left the company in July and made his AEW debut at AEW All In. Tony Khan subsequently confirmed that he had signed with AWEW.

In the latest episode of his Hall of Fame Podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T commented on Ricochet joining AEW. (H/t Sanchez Taylor of WrestleTalk.com for transcription)

“I’m glad Ricochet got a soft landing,” said Booker T. “The kid can do it, man. He’s definitely an exceptional talent, definitely a next-level talent. I just feel like he fits the AEW system a lot better than the WWE system.”

Booker T: Ricochet will now be unlimited

Booker T continued, noting that Ricochet was getting the chance to do “the WWE thing.” The legend noted that the high-flyer could do an unlimited amount of stuff in AEW.

“But he had the chance to be in WWE, and that’s something that a lot of people wonder about who haven’t been able to be in WWE,” he said. “WrestleMania week and all that stuff. He’s had the chance to experience that multiple times, so it’s not that hard for him to get to the next level because now it’s just about getting paid, going out there and having some good matches and hopefully having an outstanding career at the end of the day.”

“I think for Ricochet to have some of the most incredible matches he can have, he just has to go out there and let loose. That is, you ask the boss, ‘What do you want me to do tonight?’ and the boss says, ‘Whatever you want to do.’ That’s what he has now. So there’s going to be an unlimited amount of stuff that you can see from Ricochet now that you couldn’t see before.”

Ricochet will make his AEW Dynamite debut on August 28th, facing Kyle Fletcher.
