Rita Ora reveals two ‘very important’ things she has to do before going on stage – Music News

Rita Ora enjoys a “big lunch” and a tequila before going on stage.

The 33-year-old pop singer performed at Manchester Pride on Saturday (24.08.24) and revealed ahead of performing her biggest hits in front of a crowd of 17,000 that having a takeaway drink and a shot of alcohol were “very important” to ensure her energy levels stayed high throughout.

In The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, she said: “I like a good, big lunch to keep my energy up before a show. It’s very important for me.”

“If I have time, I would like to go to a fish and chip shop. And to me, that’s all just gravy.

“And I love tequila soda or vodka soda with lime.”

The “Anywhere” singer was then asked what it was like to perform for her gay fans and recalled that she “fell in love” with dance music at a young age while going to trendy clubs and therefore always felt somehow part of the community.

She said: “I used to go to the underground bars and underground clubs and that’s where I fell in love with the dance music and the makeup melting off my face.

“I had no idea what would happen in my career.

“I fell in love with dance music by being accepted at gay raves in underground clubs.

“Growing up, music gave me a sense of acceptance and being part of the community.”

Meanwhile, the “Ask and You Shall Receive” singer last toured in 2021 with the “Phoenix World Tour,” but stressed that while she doesn’t have any “exact details” yet, she will eventually do some live performances in support of her latest album, “You and I.”

She said: “I don’t know the exact details yet, but you will definitely get some live shows from me.

“Just watch this room.”
